Has anyone here trained with Iain before? If so how did they find it?
( I don't want to be annoying but his name is Abernethy :-) )

Thank you for the correction, typo on my part.  I corrected the OP.

I've not trained with him directly, but I have spoken to him via email.  I first read his books about 15 years ago give or take.  It was quite an eye-opener for me and gave me a new appreciation for kata.  I feel his material really expanded my personal training and made me a better instructor.

And to note, he's really made successful inroads into practical bunkai for a number of martial artists.  Even outside of 'karate'.

Threw out the years I've seen several different Bunkai to this form and every time they are extremely different however Ive watched master Abernathy several years know, I like many others enjoy his approaches to the moves. In the end techniques in forms are only limited by your imagination. his shuto blocks or in korean we call sodo blocks was my favorite part to his approach.  Very cool.
