War In The USA
#1
This is sort of an off shoot from the going down hill fast thread, but with all that's been happening between african americans and the police, it seems we could be on the verge of all out aggression here in the streets. We have at least a second generation that has absolutely no regard for the police and the parent(s) stand behind them for any and everything. The politicians and self serving groups and individuals run to decry anything done by the police as racist and whomever is the target of police action is totally vindicated by the media and those self serving individuals. Apparently there is a new organization on the scene which is akin to the black panther party, which back in the late 60's and early 70's openly declared war on the NYPD and fully carried out the threat. We now have, according to the latest reports, that over 100 police officers nation wide have been killed in the line of duty and a healthy portion of that number have come from officers being ambushed and assassinated, while others have been killed while attempting to apprehend someone and that someone has used deadly force and opened fire on the police.

One has to wonder just where we're headed and just what will be the proverbial straw that breaks the camels back. It's hard enough now to find recruits for departments and anyone who actually wants a career in law enforcement will think more than twice because on what's ongoing.

The question or better yet your opinion; ................ are we on the verge of a possible race war looming for the country?

While it's being marketed as a race war I do not feel it's about race. I think it's mostly about disenfranchised ignorant people against authority.

I think this issue goes way beyond the failure to deal with dependence on Government welfare and ignorance and you can't just put more people in jail. The prisons are already full.

We have a similar situation identified here in Australia where the children of disenfranchised people are dropping out of school early and perpetuating the problem. It is easy to say these people should get off their collective arses and get a job but it is not as simple as that either. Many jobs have gone off shore to China, India, Bangladesh etc. I mentioned earlier the need to address the issue of the widening gap between the rich and poor. This is the symptom of that problem and if it is not addressed the situation will just get worse and worse until you are living in conditions like South Africa with gated communities surrounded by high walls, barbed wire and security guards.

I think it boils down to greed, entitlement, and frustration. It's no one thing. Some people feel entitled because of their skin color, position, wealth, etc. Others fee they are entitled because they don't have positions or wealth. So many people justify business practices and shady dealings because it helps the bottom line(greed). Unfortunately they missed the memo that such a system isn't long term sustainable because eventually, as sidekick said, the bottom falls out when the masses can't support the few at the top and all hell breaks loose.

We have all of the -isms alive and well anymore. Racism, classism, sexism, all of it is thriving today because everyone wants to feel a little bit better. What makes it worse is that people won't call it what it is. They justify their prejudice by demonizing and labelling those they are prejudiced against with some "noble" cause on their part. They are taking jobs, they are leeches, they are criminals, they blah blah blah. So not only does the prejudice continue, it deepens. We live in a society of extremes which means that when you boil it down most people in America despise other Americans to the point of verbal or physical aggression.

I fear that things will continue to escalate to more widespread violence. I don't know about war, but our attitudes are looking for reasons to ostracize and divide, not unite and listen to one another. Now more and more people are acting on their frustration in violence and unless attitudes change it will only worsen.

The saddest thing for me to see is people who claim to have faith(particularly in Christ for me) ,and yet buy into all of this division and hate and demonizing and somehow try to justify it in the eyes of the one whose life was unquestionably on the side of those who were despised, lived in peace, died for the sake of mercy and forgiveness, and in his last hours on earth prayed that we would be united.

Liberals have been developing this strategy for decades.  Make black people dependent upon the very system that is keeping them enslaved.  I don't use the term 'African-American' about black people because it generally does not apply.  In order to be 'African-American' you need to have held citizenship in some country of Africa and now hold citizenship in America.  I only personally know one person which satisfies that criteria...and he's white.

Black people are often 'low information' voters.  That's a nice way of saying their ignorant when it comes to politics.  But to be fair, most people are ignorant.  Otherwise BO wouldn't have been elected twice (or even once).  They also have no grasp of history either as the Democrats are the ones that opposed freeing the slaves and further enslave todays' black people through government dependence.  That has breed an entire generation of 'useful idiots' as the socialist like to call them.

Thread name changed: War on Police

You'll notice I haven't been active here lately, that's because I've been very active on one of my other boards (SEP forum).  A lot of stuff going on, particularly lately.  The above threads have been, unfortunately, very active.

Does not matter that he was armed and evading arrest, it was just an excuse for the rest of the thug mentality to pillage and burn. I know I'm like the boy who cried wolf, but in all honesty, I'm really afraid of what's going to happen in this country. We have second, possibly third generation of this mentality and if your not living in an ivory tower, folks can see what's coming down the pike. There is absolutely no fear of anything in these people and the crime rate, even though the Pres says it's down, is going through the roof. Need proof, just watch the nightly news. Now somewhere down the pike, we as a nation must put a stop to this, but how? Elections don't do anything, passing a new law against upholding the plethora of laws already on the books won't matter, forming talking groups with clergy and law abiding citizens will do nothing and attacking the police with political motivated arrests for doing their job will only reduce those that would be willing to become police officers. So again the question, "What To Do"?.......................

I do believe a civil war is coming to America.  How quickly depends on who gets elected.

I agree that we have a couple of generations of self-proclaimed victims that have a sense of entitlement.  We have young people that don't have a clue about history and what Socialism/Communism actually means.  They think it means free college yet they're not thinking past their own nose.  There is no free.  Unless the college doesn't have electricity, property and teachers...it costs something to run the school.  Who pays for that?  Somebody does.

Racism is being fanned at hurricane pitch.

Refugees and illegals flood over the borders and he's something to think about;  the FBI has publicly stated that they cannot vet them and that they estimate 20% are ISIS.  Yet they are wanting to increase the number coming over the border.  So if you KNOW some are terrorists and you DON'T KNOW which ones are...why would you let any in?  That is either sheer stupidity or there is an agenda behind it.
