Presidential primaries

The problem with politics is when you become rusted on to a party and become blind to what the other party has to offer. In Australia we don't have an extreme right party like your Republicans. Occasionally we do get someone like Trump come along but fortunately they never get far. Our Liberal coalition is similar in policy to your Democrats and our Labor party would be along the lines of Bernie Sanders policies. Mostly I have voted for our right wing parties but occasionally for the sake of improving the social conditions of the whole society we look to the left. In some ways it is fortunate you don't have a real left wing party but in others ways it is your loss. The left does far more for the general community but that does come at a cost.

As sidekick said above, we are watching the Trump Circus with jaw dropping amazement. The fact that someone like him could be elected as a representative to your government is amazing enough but to think he could be President is beyond comprehension.

I think the you know what just hit the fan.................with Trumps statement that folks would probably riot if he doesn't get the nod from the Rep party. In a back door move, IMO, he's planted the seed for it to happen. As I said before, he says stuff that people want to hear and other politicians are afraid to say out loud. A part of me respects his courage to say it, but another part says he's just pulled the pin on the grenade. I'm actually afraid for the outcome of this election. Either way it goes, we the people are going to get it stuck up and broken off......

I disagree.  I know very well what the Democrat party offers and what they stand for because I've done a LOT of indepth research.  The problem is that those in the Democrat party DO NOT know what their own party stands for!

Democrats were against freeing the slaves.

Democrats have pushed, against the people's desire, to remove God from the party format.

Democrats push for abortion and sing the praises of Margret Sanger the founder of planned parenthood.  She hated minorities and put abortion clinics in poor neighborhoods to help quell the population of minorities through inexpensive abortions.  That's a fact from her own words.

Democrats push Socialism and breed the entitlement generation to depend on the government from cradle to grave.

Democrats push homosexuality in all forms.

Personally, I don't agree with any of those things.  Unfortunately, the Republican party does NOT represent the majority of conservative Americans and their values.  Thus at the point, I have NO issue with either Trump or Cruz going to Washington and (figuratively) burning it to the ground.  In other words, shake it up and break up cronyism and corruption.  Both parties are more interested in lining their own pockets than serving the American citizen.

Trump is brash, arrogant and rude.   But he's also very smart and isn't afraid to say EXACTLY what the majority of Americans are thinking and feeling.  The actual numbers show the truth.  People are coming over from the Democrats and Independents in record numbers to support him.  The Republican party has had record turn out to vote in the primaries.  Washington, Hillary and the establishment on both sides are terrified of him and the medial can't control him.

GOOD!!

And Cruz is even more hated by his own party because he doesn't go along to get along.  I'll be happy with either.  And if the Republicans try some shenanigans at the convention then their will likely be some major problems.

Well, it seems as though Trump has totally shot himself in the foot or better yet in the mouth, with his latest statement on women and abortions. The way he won't come out and answer a direct question with a direct answer, I'm sorry to say, kind of speaks volumes as to his less than forthcoming character. In the beginning of this presidential circus, I was somewhat supportive of at least his non PC remarks and apparently so were lots of folks. Now, aside from the fact that everybody is gunning for him, Repubs and Dems alike, he's greatly diminishing any chance he had for the WH with his current rhetoric and back peddling. We're going to have to face the fact that the American public is in for another 4 years of a dismal future, regardless of if it's Clinton, Sanders, Cruz or whom ever jumps out of the wood work at the last minute.

He deserves what he gets if he back peddles.  I feel he didn't go far enough.  If a person decides to buy crack and goes to a crack dealer who gets arrested?   Both the person trying to buy the crack and the person selling crack.  Both are guilty of a crime.

If abortion was illegal then the same applies.  The woman is guilty for trying to kill the baby and the doctor is guilty of actually killing the baby.  The mother is an accomplice to the murder.  Hence both are guilty.

The left tries to play the women's health care card.  Nonsense.  Getting screened for breast cancer has nothing to do with killing a baby.  A woman can receive health care without ever even discussing abortion.  It's a straw man argument.

They also try to play the incest/rape card.  What's the % of women needing an abortion for rape/incest?  Like 0.05 %?  So that puts 99.5% of women killing their baby due to not taking basic precautions in marriage or promiscuous sex outside of marriage.

Top that off with an avowed racist creating Planned Parenthood to kill off black people and the whole deal is lousy.
